The new owners of the Rose & Crown, Dunton Green, bring expertise gained from 25 years in the business plus all the energy and enthusiasm needed to give their customers the sort of dining and drinking experience they’ll want to repeat again and again.

We at the Rose and Crown offer a warm welcome to everyone and are becoming well known for our top quality food, great wines and a wonderful welcome. Dine in the more formal setting of air conditioned conservatory restaurant where the tables are laid with fresh linen and flowers, or drink and eat in the bar areas.

In the summer, soak up the sun and have fun with the kids in the large and secure beer garden where there is a barbeque and a safe play area for the under 10s.

The Rose and Crown owners and staff are a cohesive team and know how to offer a consistently high standard of food along with helpful and friendly service. To ensure a truly special dining experience there are three very experienced chefs who only cook with the best quality ingredients to produce the standard of food diners can now expect at this owned rather than as previously, just managed pub/restaurant. The combination of fresh local produce and everything being prepared and cooked on the premises gives the large selection of dishes a culinary edge.

Enjoy any of the menus – that’s a la carte, bar meals or regularly changed specials – in any of the dining areas. Select dishes such as an appetising Seafood platter, tastily seasoned sea bass fillet, steak and ale pie or a loaded Rose special fry up.

And you really have to be there to believe the Rose and Crown signature dish – a humungous piece of the finest completely fresh cod, cooked in a mouth – watering crisp beer batter. Vegetarians enjoy and exciting choice of dishes and both the Rose and Crown ploughman’s and the pub’s roast with all the trimmings, (available on Sunday along with all the other menus), is also to die for.

White wine and rose from the excellent and eclectic wine list are served seriously chilled in a chilled glass and there is a connoisseur wine list for the more discerning wine drinker. Sample a wine or ask for advice from the staff. Wine, apart from the connoisseur list, is also available by the glass (175 or 250ml) and the full bar includes real ales.

The Rose and Crown changes according to the season, the winter opening of a hearty log fire, quiz nights, speciality evenings and, from September, live music including jazz and local bands.
